Thanksgiving 2005

This was the best Thanksgiving to date. My sister, Tamsen, and her family are up visiting, My sister Janet came down from NY State, and dad came all the way up from Paramus to share the holiday together. Thanks to Market Basket and their wonderfully prepared chopped onions and celery, etc. my life was much easier as I made the dinner. We had all our favorites, Turkey, sausage/apple stuffing, green beans with cheese sauce, broccoli and onion casserole, mashed potaotoes with gravy, and Janet brought the red cabbage and the creamed onions. No meltdowns or arguments, whoo hooo. Tamsen and Joe's twins are totally adorable and we love having them here. friends came and visited for dessert and the day was just perfect. I love Thanksgiving!! Posted by Picasa

Sad day in WCL

It was so sad. I can hardly talk abou tit without crying. After 10 long years of fighting it my beautiful Rockerfeller Christmas tree is gone. I started noticing that it was no longer straight but leaning to one side, quite a bit. And then big trees in our area started falling down this Fall and I realized that if we didn't do something about the tree it could fall and take out my neighbor's home. My heart is breaking though. Last Saturday I returned home from the Revolove tour with my daughter to find the tree's trunk lying in my driveway. It was like a corpse there. Jay didn't realize how this would affect me and didn't give me any warning that it was coming down that day. I was sick. I know the tree had to go and that it will make building our garage easier but still my heart is so sad. I loved that tree. My skyline is just wrong now. It is empty and clear. I know that as time goes on I will get over this but still, today, I am in mourning for this beautiful, majestic tree and it will forever be held in my heart.  Posted by Picasa

CKU-A

Well it is Wednesday and I have been back from CKU-A for a few days now. What an amazing time I had there. I have never been to something quite like this. Can you say INTENSE?? Over the course of three days I managed to create, but not finish 7...count them 7 albums! It was wild. Most of them were small little albums, I gave one to Kyle's girlfriend, Meg for her birthday, but the best was the Week in the Life album taught by Ali Edwards. I just love this album. I am not a scrapbooking celebrity fan (There were a ton of them at the Westing this weekend) but I really admire Ali after having her teach the program. What a creative, funny and kind person. She was patient with everyone's questions and helped us when we were down right braindead. The album she designed for the class was great and it was cool to see how each person made theirs a little different, adding their own style as they went along. I still have quite a bit to do on my album and am really looking forward to the finished product. Here is a picture of me, Ali and Anat taken during the weekend. I am going to use a copy of it for my album. The last page I am going to do a making of the album page. I am also going to order a few more refill packs and try to create another set of pages each year during the same week to see how life goes on and changes. Cool, huh?
